
Friend to animals - Visit our deer park and view three different types of deer, Red, Japanese Sika and Fallow. Discover interesting facts about their lifecycle and their eating habits. Discover what camouflage they have and why its needed, try on a pair of antlers and make a deer mask.
Environment - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle! That’s what this activity session is all about. Discover what different types of packaging are made from and how you are probably wrapping your sandwiches in oil and are drinking from sand. Discover what happens to your packaging after you have finished with it and how you can help to reduce the impact on the environment. Take part in a recycle relay and find out who is your packs recycling expert in a game of true and false. Have a go at make your own recycled paper.

- Bring on old t-shirt and transform it into a trendy must have by adding fabric paints, beads and sequins.
- Take a stroll around the wild walk collecting a variety of natural materials and bring them back to make a collage.
- Collect a rock, add some eyes, a funky design, legs, antenna, and hey presto your very own rock bug.
- Visit Australia, Africa, Japan, Canada, Antarctica and then back to England by taking a trip through our mazes. After your whirlwind tour discover more about one of the countries by trying out a craft from that country.
World issues - An activity session based around trees! Plant a tree around the wild walks and find out what it needs to grow. Discover why trees are very important to us, why they are in danger and how you can help to protect them. Turn your pack into a talking tree and make leaf and bark rubbings. Reduce Reuse, Recycle activity also relevant to world issues badge.
Wildlife explorer - Go on a nature walk around the site to see what's blooming! Keep your eyes and ears open for insects, and birds, and use your nose to sniff out plants and trees, make a natures cocktail and have a go at leaf and bark rubbings. Discover with the pack three different species of wild birds, butterflies and mammals. Which will be your favourite? Make a ‘pooter’ and discover an area in more detail looking closely at the bug life that can be found there. Or go for a pond dip and wonder at the amazing variety of wildlife that lives underwater.
Seasons - Spring (March & April) Make a bird box and place it in the wild walks, go for a nature ramble and jot down all the signs of spring. Make a rainfall gauge and take it home to measure the rainfall with. Summer (June, July & August) - Go for a nature walk keeping your eyes and ears open for butterflies, bees and insects. Look at them closely and work out what they are doing and why. Have a go at eating like a butterfly. After the walk and the games the pack is sure to be hungry, so finish off the visit by munching on toast topped with three different sorts of honey. Autumn (September & October) Take a tour through the orchard looking at the different fruits that can be found there. Take a taste test and see which is your favourite. Discover what hibernation is and which animals do this. Make a mammals nest to see which material will keep them the warmest over the long cold winter months. Finish off the visit by taking a stroll around the wild walks to collect natural materials to turn into a collage.
