
The Outdoor Challenge - Have a go at shelter building in our den building area, whose will stay the driest and the warmest? or try building and flying your own kite.
The Discovery Challenge - Creativity. Plenty to chose from for your pack either, get your thinking caps on and design and make a bird house, go minibeast hunting or pond dipping and then create a creature based on some of the minibeasts that you find.
The Global Challenge - Learn all about recycling by taking part in a recycled relay race and then create a recycling diary to monitor how much your pack recycles at home. Alternatively visit the mazes and journey through Australia, Japan, Canada and Antartica, following the country trail as you go to find about interesting facts about that countries traditions and culture.
Animal Carer Activity Badge - Three different sessions to choose from:- Visit the deer in our deer park and find out about how we care for them. Find out about their lifecycle, their adaptations, what they eat and their natural habitat, you will even get the chance to try on a pair of antlers. Visit the aquachamber and view the freshwater fish that live there. Learn all about them including what they eat and discuss their lifecycle. Go on a minibeast hunt or try your hand at pond dipping, to discover the amazing creatures that live there, draw or photograph your favourites.
DIY Activity Badge - Join one of the rangers for a tool talk and learn how to use basic tools safely and then put this into knowledge into practise as you design and create a window box.
Global Conservation Activity Badge – We usually have an ongoing project that your pack could get involved with. Conservation projects may be anything from clearing a pond, litter picking the site, erecting bird or bat boxes, tidying up parts of the site or planting trees. Naturalist Activity Badge - Plantasia is the ideal place to help cubs gain this badge. We can offer many activities based around trees, flowers, birds, minibeast hunts, pond dipping, and lifecycles. Please ring 01827 713438 to discuss your requirements in further detail.
Scientist Activity Badge - The following activities can be used as part of part b The Living World. Go pond dipping and discover the strange and wonderful creatures that make their homes in the water and in the mud. Be a seed detective and discover how seeds get around from place to place, take a rag dog for a walk to see what seeds you can find, plant them and see what grows.
