Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs are large size pigs and are good foragers. They are very placid, easily managed and are one of the most laid back breeds of pigs.
Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs are omnivores (eat both plants and animals) they will quite happily munch away on all sorts of fruit and vegetables, will forage in the ground for snails and worms and will even eat young baby birds. They weigh about 3 pounds when they are born and put weight on very quickly, a fully grown sow can weigh as much as 40 stone.
Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs are very intelligent and it is said that they are easier to train than dogs!
Mindy– I have a changing character, I can be friendly one minute, but stroppy the next. I’m told I am a real madam.
Acorn – I am a very friendly pig, but I like to make strange squealing noises.
